Set an Intention

Renee Stribbell • January 14, 2025

Have you ever looked at your to-do list and been completely overwhelmed? You feel paralysed and do not know how to start tackling the mountain in front of you.

We have all been there and it sucks. There is a way to get out of the paralysis and take action though.

The first step is to brain-dump everything on you need to do, personally and in your business.

The next step is to break it down into actionable chunks with a time to complete. You might find that you only need an hour to complete a task and that you need to have it done within the week. You book that hour in your calendar and forget it. Do the same with each task on your list. Also look at the tasks and see if you can bundle some into one. For example, getting groceries and picking up your prescriptions at the same time.

One of the most powerful ways to take control of your day—and your results—is to start each morning with a clear intention.

Setting an intention isn't just about what you want to do. It's about who you want to be and how you want to show up. It's a moment to pause and ask yourself:

- What truly matters today?

- How do I want to feel at the end of the day?

- What small, meaningful steps can I take toward my bigger goals?

When you set an intention, it becomes your compass. It helps you prioritize, stay focused, and feel accomplished—even on the busiest days.

For example, instead of diving straight into emails or putting out fires, try this:

1) Take a few minutes in the morning to breathe, reflect, and write down your intention.

2) Anchor it with action. If your intention is to connect, maybe that means calling one client just to check in.

3) Remind yourself throughout the day. A sticky note on your computer or a quick check-in at lunch can help you stay aligned.

4) Find an accountability buddy where you communicate your intention to each other each morning. I can be your buddy if you want!

It's simple, but it's a game-changer. I did this with one of my coaching clients last week and it was so powerful!

This week, I challenge you to start each day with one clear intention. Watch how it transforms not only what you get done but how you feel about your work and life.

Remember, small, intentional steps every day lead to big results over time.

It's time to live your life on purpose.
